“ We enjoyed the atmosphere, food and the waitress. hubby had brisket and twice baked potato casserole, yum! We both loved the beans that are complimentary. I had the small chicken fried steak with the twice baked potato casserole and fried okra. I could barely finish it and was it good! One of the best chicken fried I have had and the gravy was the best I ever had! The okra actually tasted fresh! Hubby agreed it was the best in a long time. It was like my Grandma used to make. We really liked it. ”
“ 100 stars I love this place.. I needed to run away from my day to day routine.. I set out for a road trip of up to 150 miles.. we have those days where we need air. I'm glad I stopped here.. great service the chicken fried steak and everything else on the plate was the boom.. 109 miles to and from was well worth it.. I'll see you soon.. thank you ”
“ Good place for good food. My turkey was tender and juicy and well smoked. Their BBQ sauce is amazing! My son and wife ate every last bite of their plates so must a been good. The gravy on my wife's CFS was super good also! The beans they offer for free are very creamy and flavorful as well. All menu is very affordable as well. We will be back here again. Staff is quick and kind as well. Military discounts offered here also. ”
“ Skip the other place! Last night I ordered a three meat plate--it had three VERY meaty ribs, a generous serving of brisket, and probably the equivalent of a small sausage, beautifully sliced. A full cup of delicious potato salad, cup of good beans, generous serving of onion, slice of bread--and the best peach cobbler I've had in a while was added on, because why not. To compare, the OTHER place last week called a two/meat plate one bony rib cut (undercooked with raw fat), and one anemic very thin slice of dry brisket. I don't know WHAT they put in the potato salad, but it was a weird pink color and tasted like someone dumped catsup in it. . Plus over salted, unpleasantly 2nd day tasting beans. Cattleman's is worth the visit (Ours was a takeout order and was 100% accurate and still hot by the time it got home). If you visit, they're very nice. ”
“ Nothing to complain about. I'm only going to echo all the positive comments here. Great smoked sausage, delicious slow-cooked beans, and legit sauce. Our serving size ($18) fed four people. But we had other things to nibble on as well, so don't try this at home! We're also kinda small portion-ey eaters! Enjoy! ”
“ This was the first time in Brady and first time in Cattleman's. I drove in from Austin and it was late-ish for Brady so Cattleman's was the only sit down restaurant open so we decided to give it a try. The server was super nice as she told us they were out of all bbq and steaks, and several of the sides. Ok no problem, we ordered Chicken Fried Steaks all around with potato salad and Okra for me, fries and fried okra for the other guests at our table. The food was mostly tasty, hot and plentiful. The meat had not really been tenderized so that would be my biggest complaint. The gravy was nice, okra was fresh made there I believe, potato salad was good and not too mustardy . The service was really nice she was friendly and speedy and doing all positions in the restaurant that night. I would def go again, would hope for steaks though. ”
